Signs Your Brakes Need Looking At

A grinding noise, a spongy pedal, or the car pulling slightly under braking are all worth acting on quickly rather than hoping they settle down. Brake repair in Millom is one of the jobs we take most seriously, simply because there's no margin for error when it comes to stopping safely, whether that's on the Duddon Estuary road or in slow traffic through town. A dashboard warning light is another one worth getting checked promptly rather than waiting to see if it clears on its own.

Pads, Discs, and Everything Between

Our technicians inspect the full braking system, not just the parts that are easiest to reach. That means pads, discs, callipers, and the condition of the brake fluid, since fluid that's absorbed moisture over time can quietly reduce how well your brakes perform. We'll show you what we've found, explain what needs doing now against what can wait, and give you a price before any work starts. If you drive mostly around town, in and out of Millom on the school run or short hops to the shops, your pads and discs will often wear faster than a car doing longer motorway miles, so it's worth having them looked at a little more often.
